Light on America is a creative forum for essays, images, stories, music, poetry, and observations about American life. At its heart, however, it is an essay platform 

dedicated to examining the issues shaping our nation with independence, reason, and intellectual honesty.

The purpose of Light on America is not to add to the noise of modern public discourse, but to look beyond it—to identify the underlying issues that deserve thoughtful attention, encourage informed discussion, and, when possible, inspire positive change.
